Two sisters' reviews of Young Adult and Middle Grade books, inspired by their lovely library.
Thanks you so much Always Opinionated Girl for this nomination! Her blog is fantastic and you absolutely must check it out! These past weeks have been a flurry of blogging awards… but here is one more!
1.) Thank the blogger who nominated you, linking back to their site.
2.) Put the award logo on your blog.
3.) Answer the ten questions they’ve set you.
4.) Make up ten new questions for your nominees to answer.
5.) Nominate ten people.
1.) If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do?
Gwen: Go out and buy all the books on my lengthy to-purchase list (including Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo, all of Maria V. Snyder’s books, and Illusions of Fate by Keirsten White)! Then travel the world.
2.) If you were reincarnated as an ice cream flavour, what would it be?
Gwen: Trader Joe’s Cookie Butter Ice Cream. I have yet to actually try it, but I am obsessed with their cookie butter (which I first tried in Amsterdam as “speculoos” spread — the original European version), and am sure it will be love at first taste.
3.) What would you name the autobiography of your life?
Gwen: This is just something you are supposed to think of on the spot? I think I’d need to actually write the autobiography before deciding on a title!
4.) Who is your hero?
Gwen: Katherine Kellgren, my favorite audiobook narrator! I just can’t get enough of her voices — they are all so spectacular!
5.) What’s you favorite knock-knock joke?
No no no! To whom!
6.) You can select one person from history and have them truthfully answer one question. Who would it be and what question?
Gwen: I will probably come up with a better answer next week or at a random time, but right now I’ll say that I’d ask one of the people colonized at the Roanoke Colony what happened to them. It’s something that has always fascinated me.
7.) What’s your dream holiday?
Kate: A school holiday where all the teachers become Harry Potter professors and you take classes just like at Hogwarts. Gym would be Quidditch, Social Studies would be History of Magic, Math would be Arithmancy, Science would be Herbology, and Potions, Charms, Divination and Transfiguration would also be classes.
8.) What’s the scariest thing you’ve ever done?
Kate: That is a really hard question. I’ve been too busy at home reading to to anything very scary, besides rafting and zip lining, but that was mostly fun.
9.) Do you like to sing in the shower?
Gwen: Absolutely. I practice chorus and Madrigals songs all the time in the shower! The volume at which I sing and the songs I choose usually depends on how hyper I am.
10.) When you were little, what did you want to be?
Gwen: When I was in preschool, I wanted to be an astronaut. Specifically the first female astronaut to land on the moon. Luckily I had realized that this dream was impossible because I am extremely claustrophobic, before I realized that Sally Ride had already been the first American woman in space. Funny enough, we have the same birthday!
1.) What are you pet peeves?
2.) Your favorite movies?
3.) Top thing(s) on your general bucket list?
4.) Farthest you’ve ever traveled?
5.) Your favorite fairy tale?
6.) A unique habit or talent you have?
7.) Your favorite word?
8.) One aspect of your dream house?
9.) Favorite Harry Potter book (not having read all of them is not an option!)?
10.) The hardest question to answer on this list?
Everyone who we follow and everyone who follows us (which is pretty much the same thing, and far to many to list)!
